Shillong College, Meghalaya

Shillong College was inaugurated on 15th of August, 1956, and began with few students at Jail Road Boys High School. Shri Sudhindra Chandra Datta, a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics in St. Anthony's College, became the founder Principal. Before the establishment of North Eastern Hill University in 1972, Shillong College was affiliated to Gauhati University.

Principal's Message

Shillong College, established in 1956, was re-assessed and re-accredited by NAAC, Bangalore, and has been awarded 2.92 CGPA. It is one of the premiere institutes of the State and around 2500 students in its roll. The College continues to provide quality education to the students, at the same time to inculcate knowledge, discover students’ talents and to encourage and promote discipline, secularism, right values which will nurture the rich composite culture of our country and to make the students good human beings and worthy citizens.
